“You can’t see light without darkness”

We all know this; you can’t see light without darkness, you don’t know pain without happiness. We live in a world dominated by (online) imagery of happiness, eternal bliss and perfection. ‘The toothpaste smile’ I like to call it.
This is not me. This is not the photos I take. My photography is showing who you are, what you are feeling, thinking or expressing as a true human being. Confrontational, honest, heartwarming but most of all; it’s you.
The essence of my photography is easy; every photo needs to have a story. Needs to make you look twice or needs to make you think.
I tell your story. The story of your band, the pain, struggles, happiness, loneliness and the euphoric feelings you show and share.

Photography
I love messy. I love the way life is, the way people are. Therefore I don’t remove any items in my composition while I’m taking photos. I don’t need perfection. I need to see what the story is like. Messy, like my desk. Don’t hide it.
Me and my bike
When I’m fixing my bike, my mind is blank. It’s bliss, it’s frustrating, it’s satisfying. Riding it when it’s finally done, is giving me the opportunity to think about creative photography projects. It’s absolute freedom to me.
Music and Travel
It’s a day-to-day struggle, to live of a creative existence. Besides a freelance photographer, I’m also a live guitarist, travelling the globe and trying to expend my mind. No 9 to 5, no financial security, but freedom and struggles.
